Position Overview
KRE Security, a locally owned regional security company, is seeking a professional, compassionate, and dependable Security Officer to provide full-time security coverage at an all-female residential shelter. This role is critical in maintaining a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply due to the nature of the facility and resident population.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible and calm security presence throughout the facility
- Control access to the shelter and monitor entrances and exits
- Conduct routine patrols of common areas and grounds
- Enforce shelter policies while treating all residents with dignity and respect
- De-escalate conflicts and respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies
- Work collaboratively with shelter staff and leadership
- Complete daily logs and incident reports accurately and timely
Required Qualifications

Valid shelter, state, or agency clearance(s) (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Clean background check
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and empathetic in sensitive situations
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in shelters, residential facilities, healthcare, or security
- Training or experience in de-escalation, trauma-informed care, or crisis response
Compensation

Starting Pay: Based on each client contract and will vary by site

Overtime: Paid for any hours over 40 hours per week, weighted according to applicable law

Paid Time Off: 24 hours earned after probationary period is satisfied
